Jason & Jami’s Wedding
Back in October I had the amazing honor to shoot Jami’s sister’s incredible barn wedding. Here I was super excited when Lauren approached me about shooting her sister’s small intimate December wedding ten days before Christmas. If you saw Lauren’s wedding, you saw her mom’s amazing handy work in making the reception amazing. Well… she did it again!
They chose to get married at the small St Mary’s church in uptown Charlotte. Where pink flowers were blooming all over the bushes. (Crazy for December!) The reception was in the back yard of Jami’s home. Lights decorated all the bushes and trees and shrubs, three or four chandeliers hung from trees, and a tent was pitched in the back yard. Inside the tent was the most beautiful table seating for 50ish people with china, and silver. Every plate was different. It was so incredibly beautiful. Fabulous planning.
I’ve had the best time getting to know Jami and her family the last year or so through shooting her sister’s wedding and having dinners and coffee dates with their family. I’m so glad I got to be apart of their day. I sure love all of them.
Congrats Jami & Jason!!! Love you both!
And a special amazing shout out to my second shooter and one of my closest friends, Colleen Kirk who flew in from Kansas City to help me, shoot with me and love me.
She fed me crackers the whole day (making me forget I was in my first trimester of pregnancy

Adam & Sunita’s Wedding
Adam & Sunita’s wedding took place at the end of September. It was a two part day, the first part started at the Gurdwara Sahib Temple in Concord. It was a Sikh ceremony, full Indian attire. Sunita’s family came all the way from London, and her grandmother flew alone from India to celebrate their day.
The second part of their day was an evening traditional ceremony on the deck of the Mint Museum in uptown Charlotte, following was a reception on the top floor of the Mint. Gorgeous view of uptown Charlotte.
Thank you Kori Hoffman for being an absolutely incredible friend and second shooter for me.
Congrats Adam & Sunita! Thanks again.
Enjoy! ;D

Matthew & Lauren’s Wedding
Perfect October fall day. Color everywhere. Blue skies, slight breeze…. mmmm…. Matthew and Lauren were so blessed to have the most perfect day for their wedding.
I can’t tell you all how excited I have been about this wedding. Lauren and I have become friends the last year in a half. Shooting her day and being around her family felt like family. (See their E-session here)
Through this whole process Matthew and Lauren have not only been amazing clients but great friends to my husband and I (I love that story!)
Sooo…. their ceremony took place at Central Church of God here in Charlotte, NC. And their reception was at the beautiful Anne Springs Close Greenway at the red barn on a hill. Lauren’s mom decorated the barn with a truck load of of eclectic, vintage antiques. Mason jars personalized with everyone’s name on it. Every table was different and unique. I felt like I was photographing a magazine wedding. The barn was so gorgeous! I loooove shooting details, and what I have here on my blog is the smallest taste of how many details their really were. Gosh! It was heaven.
Another highlight for me on this day was shooting romantic photos of Matthew and Lauren in tall gold grass, and them in the sunset. I felt like flying. They are so easy to photograph. So yes, I’m excited about sharing this wedding with you.
Enough of me rambling…
Congrats Matthew and Lauren! I’m so happy I got to shoot your day, and I’m so happy to have become friends with you guys!
And a special thanks to my close friend and practically my sister twin/2nd shooter- Kori Hoffman. She’s the best!
PS: Lauren’s dress is a Priscilla of Boston and the bridesmaid dresses are Jim Hjelm

That’s all Folks!
Andrew & Daphne Wedding
Daphne and Andrew’s wedding took place at the end of August at Freedom Park in Charlotte, NC. The Ceremony and Reception took place on the parks island under lovely willow trees, very breezy (effects from Hurricane Irene) and blue sky. It was gorgeous. Really great. If you haven’t already seen Daphne & Andrew’s engagement session – check it out here. Daphne and Andrew have such great taste. All their details were handmade and so romantic. The smallest things made the biggest difference in decorating. Simple and romantic. I loved, loved, loved shooting their day.
Daphne pretty much has the best facial expressions when she is happy and excited. I loved it. She was/is a beautiful bride. (Her dress is an Allure if anyone is interested)
Andrew and Daphne are leaving in a few weeks to move to Korea to teach English. They will be missed.
Great adventures await them on their new married life together.
Thank you Anna Hollingsworth for being a great 2nd shooter.
Thank you Daphne and Andrew for letting me a part of of your day, I have enjoyed getting to know you both, and its been great to work with you guys! Congrats!!!
I hope you enjoy these photos!

Bill & Anna’s Wedding “Opa!”
I love the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” It’s one of my all-time favorites. This was my first time ever photographing a Greek wedding. The bride is Greek and the groom is from Boston, so there was quite the difference between the two families. I really enjoyed getting to know Bill and his family. When I knocked on his hotel room door around 2:30 PM, he, his groomsmen and his dad were all getting their vests, ties, jackets and shoes on. The conversations I heard in a room full of men from Boston was definitely… ummm…different (smile).
My friend, Tara Mauldin, (I was her second shooter and assistant) went to the bride’s house where she was getting ready. (Check out her blog for more pictures of this wedding, coming soon.)

The ceremony took place at St. Nektarios Greek Church here in Charlotte, NC. I walked in and was super excited to get to photograph the inside of this place. I’m all about color and texture!

The poor groomsmen hanged in there while the weather outside was in the 90′s. It was a rough July day.

Bill has such beautiful nieces. I loved photographing them throughout the day.

Right before the ceremony, the bride and groom’s family all lined up. The lobby was filled chatter and laughter, mostly in Greek. Made me smile.

Everyone is waiting…

I caught the bride peeking out of the classroom window, waiting for the crowd in the lobby to clear.

Look at that ring…my, oh my.

The moment we were all waiting for…

The inside of the church had balconies all the way around it. I spent some time up there during the ceremony.

Mr. & Mrs….

And the ring again…

Man and Wife!

Again, she made me smile.

Then over to the Marriott City Center where cocktail hour was going on.

I love this photo below.

There was traditional Greek dancing and music. Everyone gathered in a circle, holding onto one another and dancing around the reception. It was so much fun!

No Windex, broken plates, or people spitting on the bride and groom, but I had a fantastic time shooting this wedding!
Congrats, Bill and Anna! Thanks for letting me be a part of your day!
OPA!!!!
Jeremy & Lydia Wedding
I started this wedding off by going to the hotel where Jeremy, the groom, was getting ready with his groomsmen. Jeremy was super nice and very kind.
I met his bride a bit later at the church as we waited for the ceremony to start. When I walked in where she was waiting, she and all her girls were blasting Jessica Simpson and dancing like school girls. So great!
Their ceremony was simple and beautiful. Lydia’s brother sang an operatic version of a hymn with a harpist and violinist. It brought us all to tears (including me)… It was so strong and fantastic.
Their reception was at a lovely country club over by Lake Wylie–Lots of dancing, all kinds of different food, and a great band! Tara Mauldin (the main photographer- I was her second shooter and assistant. ) and I had a great time! (Here’s a video of the reception!)
Congrats Jeremy and Lydia! Thanks for letting me photograph your day!!
