waiting on baby Gatlyn… 41 weeks

We are all still waiting for my nephew to arrive. He’s taking his sweet time, and his mommy is getting tired of waiting. Jess has been blogging since the beginning of her pregnancy, http://bohobabybump.blogspot.com/ .

Soon and very soon we’ll all have a new family member. ;)

Abraham & Rebekah

So the story goes that Rebekah grew up with me in children’s church when I was like four years old. Neither of us remember one another. My parents have spent a lot of time with this couple, and really love them. Rebekah facebooked me one afternoon and asked if I would be wiling to take some pictures of Abraham for an instrumental album that he is currently working on. We both have mutual friends (+my parents) and I got excited to do this for them. He’s a guitarist, and Rebekah, is a teacher. They just recently found out they are expecting a baby! Really beautiful, sweet couple… I really enjoyed this shoot.

They drove from Morganton, NC area. We met a Amélie’s french bakery in Noda, Charlotte.  And then drove down to the small area of Noda where there is so much colour and texture to photograph. I loved it!

I also did some photos of Rebekah…  (she is so lovely!)

I had a great time getting to know them!

Enjoy!

Stacey Veit Bridal Shoot

Back in November my dear photographer friend Kori Hoffman asked me to come second shoot a Bridal Portrait session with her. We went to Noda in Charlotte, NC to a boxing warehouse. There was very little light in the building, so we played with some shadows and reflectors. We also took a trip outside and played in the tall grass. It was still fall, and the leaves were still changing beautifully. Stacey and her family were incredible to be around. She was gorgeous to photograph, and was a total natural.  On March 20th, Kori and I got to shoot Stacey Veit’s wedding. It was absolutely fantastic.  (Pictures to come…)

Lilly Webb

I’ve known Lilly for about ten years. Growing up, her sisters were two of my very best friends, they were in my wedding, and walked with me through so many things. Lilly has grown into an beautiful young woman. Every time I see her I can’t believe how beautiful she’s gotten. I’m so proud of her walk with the Lord, and the maturity that she’s grown into.

I love this girl… She’s about to take long term mission trip to Argentina.

Samuel and Jessica

Such an incredible story for me to tell, cause I love how Jesus works. Samuel my brother met the most amazing woman named Jessica Cortez (who was my best friend). She is a Texan/Hippy. They fell in love and after a very brief dating season via Skype (she was living in Redding, CA and he was living in Vass, NC) he surprised her in Israel by showing up on her favorite beach asking her to marry him. Here is the video (Get ready to cry)

Jessica began to plan out the most amazing wedding ever. A barn 15 Bridesmaids in long tie dye maxi dresses, 13 Groomsmen in vests, and different scarves, hats. The ceremony would take place on top of hill in the middle of the woods. And the reception would take place in a big red barn. Mason jars, record players, apples, wild flowers, horses, bon fire, 60′s booths, type writer…

During the time that Jess was looking her her dress she was approached by the bridal store she bought her dress from in Dallas. They asked her if she would be willing to be filmed for a new up coming reality TV show (airing April 25th on Woman’s Entertainment Network WE) called “Girl Meets Gown”

They began to film her finding the dress, interviewing her family, and Sam (via skype) I drove down to Dallas a few times from Kansas City and helped her hand make a MILLION invitation. And I was interviewed and filmed with the show.

Their wedding was absolutely incredible. My friend Shelley Paulson who has been mentoring me and has been an INCREDIBLE friend to my heart. She was hired to come and shoot the wedding. There are 6 parts on Shelley’s blog to Samuel and Jessica’s pictures. PLEASE LOOK at them!!

Annie Peterson

So Annie was a girl that I didn’t get to hang out with enough. When I saw her, she glowed with a big smile and her bright red hair was brilliant. She makes a room light up. I would describe Annie as a gentle dove with a big smile. I miss her. =(

My mentor, Shelley Paulson, and friend, Joanna Reyburn, went on a little photography trip around Longview, MO. We had a gorgeous July evening and Annie was our model. I love these pictures. She’s so incredibly beautiful.
