“A Winter Wedding”- Christina & Anthony’s Wedding Part 2
And here is part 2 of Christina and Anthony’s Winter wedding weekend. (Part 1 is here) Christina is quite the lady enduring bitter temperatures for these photos. I kept saying to both of them… “It will be worth it!” I hope it was.
I had a ton of layers on and my Russian fur hat. I was so warm. I think these photos turned out so lovely. I couldn’t help it, I had to post a ton of Christina, she looked so beautiful. (Her Birthday is tomorrow!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINA!)
Enjoy!

Jeremy and Elizabeth
Jeremy and Elizabeth are such beautiful people. I grew up with Jeremy, spending so much time with his family. (I took pictures of his niece recently.) Jeremy’s always been like a brother to me growing up and I was so happy when him and Elizabeth started dating six years ago. They got engaged this year and are planning a wedding for summer of 2012. They contacted me about a month ago and wanted me to take some photos of them to celebrate their six year anniversary of being together.
We drove out into the country in Monroe area of North Carolina. Elizabeth had some friends that kindly let us shoot on their lovely piece of land. It was beautiful light and a glorious evening. We found some great texture, old cars, and some sweet lookin’ vines.
I hope you enjoy these!!
Jeremy and Elizabeth I sure love you guys!

Look closely you can see the full moon…

Waking up the leaves
So this past weekend one of my closest friends Sharon Gallaway came to visit me. It just so happened to be the peak week of fall here in South Carolina. Everywhere we looked was sorta like magic floating around.
Brandon, Sharon and I took a little hike around Anne Springs Greenway here in Fort Mill, SC. As we were about to start walking we heard a little girl kicking up colored leaves yelling.. “Mom! Its time to wake up the leaves!” I love that..
So this post is to let you in on our little hike Saturday, and make you all wish you lived in my state.
PS: Sharon I miss you already. =(

Gray & Brittany’s wedding
Here is a lovely September wedding at Castle McCulloch near Greensboro, NC, that Tara Mauldin and I (second shooter) together. Gray and Brittany had their ceremony in the castle, and an afternoon brunch under a tent in the middle of the woods. It was an absolutely perfect late summer day.
Thanks Gray and Brittany for letting me be a part of your day!

“All the single ladies…” -bouquet catch.

The brides sister caught it!

This was the reaction from the bridesmaid who found out the garter had to go on the leg of the girl who caught the bouquet.

and this too…

Congrats Gray and Brittany!
Leah Rose
Joel and Laura Teel are close friends of mine. I’ve known Joel thirteen+ years and he’s always been a big brother and a dear, dear friend to me and my brother growing up. His character has always been very consistent in our friendship. We shared so much of our childhood and teen years together, that its fun to reminiscence together.
I had the privileged to be able to photograph Joel and Laura’s little girl, Leah Rose. She is a two and a half year old full of energy and life. I would also dare to say she one of the most beautiful little girls I’ve ever seen. Leah kept me on my toes for about an hour and a half, as I chased her with my camera through tall grass and woods at Colonel Francis Beatty Park in Matthews, NC. She would not sit still, not even for a moment. She was always finding leaves, sticks, stones, and flowers to pick up. So adorable.
This was my first time photographing this age, and I was sore the next day from bending up and down and crawling on my hands and knees. I was also able to catch a few portraits of Joel and Laura.
I hope these make you smile..

sometimes I love blurry.

sensational camping.
The last time I went camping was when I was thirteen years old, living in Smithton, Missouri. My best friend (at the time) Alex Mills was having her birthday party and wanted to invite me and two other friends on a camping adventure. I don’t remember much, except that we giggled in a tent for about three hours until a downpour of rain came. The tent started leaking and we run to the van as Alex’s parents bravely took the tents down and got soaked. We drove back to Alex’ house and stayed up all night long taking pictures of ourselves and watching movies. Alex’ mom made us chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast the next morning. (My very first time ever having chocolate chip pancakes.)
Overall, I would say that camping wasn’t my favorite thing. So I wanted to redeem that experience of being drowned in my tent when I was thirteen.
I live in a neighborhood with five married couples, six including us. We all get together and play games, play pranks on each other, have dinners, roman candle wars, play frisbee golf, tell stories, play wii, go on adventures, laugh till late. We’ve had some of the best times with these friends. We love living here and being together. Its been the best season being home. I truly am the happiest I’ve ever been.
Two of our sets of friends asked us to go camping at Julian Price Memorial Camp near Blowing Rock, NC. Brandon and I decided to go buy our first tent at Wal-mart. We bought $3 flash lights with big batteries and a little red cooler to go along with our tent. We stuffed our cooler with Hebrew organic hot dogs, ketchup, plums, dasani water, and ice. We brought a bag full of summer burst starburst, two cans of soup, a can of baked beans, coffee, my tea pot, hot dog buns, plastic utensils, a french press, two coffee mugs, graham crackers (for smores) and some all natural cheeto’s. I’m ready to survive.
Gorgeous drive up to the mountains on the Blue Ridge Parkway, little towns, fantastic wind blowing our hair, Ingrid Michaelson, Josh Groban, John Mayer playing loud, and color barely starting to show in the trees. We arrived at the camp ground and picked our lot. Built a fire and started putting our tents up. Our friends Carolyn and JJ Huff have been some of my long time friends. We went to school together in California when I was seventeen. They met at school, fell in love, married, moved in right next door to us in Fort Mill, and started a family. Two kids (Amber and Ailsa) and one on the way… we love them. Our other friends Josiah and Nicole Carroll are so much fun to be with, only in the last year have we become close to them. Josiah is a Minnesota boy (ya’ betcha) and Nicole is a Puerto Rican New Yorker from the city. They met here in South Carolina, and moved into our neighborhood. We really love having them here.
So here is the start of my adventure…

Josiah is to the left and Nicole is on the right. My handsome husband, Brandon is below.

This is Amber Huff, she loves to play in dirt.

JJ and Ailsa put their tent together. (It was mostly Ailsa…
)

This is a little video I made of Ailsa telling me all about her tent. I love it.
Amber has a big crush on ‘Siah…

Oh and meet Maizey the dog, she’s a good girl.

<3 this man

Nicole likes to jump.

Our tent is to the dark blue one. Its a perfect little house.

So we decided we take a small hike around the lake and enjoy nature. The light was glorious.

mmmm….. he’s mine.

My brave man dug in the mud and caught a cute frog.

Josiah and Nicole.

This was one of the few trees where the leaves had changed.

Taking a break from being carried.

Our nature walk ended, we ate more hot dogs, cans of soup, baked beans and smores. We hit our tents around 10pm. Brandon filled water bottles with boiling water to keep our feet warm in our sleeping bags. (It worked!)
I believe it was around 1 AM my eyes popped open, and I whispered to Brandon “Brandon! baby! don’t kill me, I have to pee, and I’m not going out there alone” We both stumbled out of the tent. It was dark, tall tree shadows, and crickets singing. I found the camp site bathroom. (pheewww…) Acorns hit our tent in the middle of the night and scared the crap out of us. haha! Around sunrise we heard the coyotes howling at the sun. I loved it.
The next morning…. hot dogs, oatmeal, french press coffee, and plums.

The sun created a beautiful masterpiece in the middle of the woods.

So that’s it! We packed up and went home. I had the best time and I want to go back here in a few weeks when the trees have fully changed and the air is brisk.
Happy fall and happy future camping!
