Red No More! A Newly Updated Kitchen.
So three and a half years ago, Brandon and I moved into our two-bedroom townhouse in Fort Mill, SC. We love this little home. To go with my feisty twenty-year-old personality at the time, I painted my kitchen the brightest red I could possibly find. No one dared get in my way. I was set on red. We would have little parties and invite our friends to “the red kitchen.” In July of 2007, we left our little home and rented it out while we moved to Kansas City. A couple of years later, we decided we wanted to come home. In returning to our home… our kitchen greeted us with a very annoying “please paint me fast.”
So a few weeks back, Brandon and I picked out the new paint for our kitchen and our neighbor painted it for us. (Praise the Lord, oh my soul.) Stonington Grey, by Benjamin Moore.
So below are the before and after pictures of my kitchen. Walking into my newly painted kitchen, I was filled with such peace. I’m hoping to add some yellows to brighten it up a bit.
I just had to share.
Gotta love Ikea and all their brilliant ideas. I like having my silverware in the little buckets.
Maybe sometime soon, we’ll paint the cabinets white. I think that would be nice.
My grandmother gave me this glass set from the Great Depression era. Its my favorite.
I love these bowls from Anthropologie.
Just a little decoration in my kitchen.
I have decided that lanterns are my new thing. Jess got this for me from Anthropologie for my birthday.
just some of the small decorations in my cozy home. These books we got in a small book shop in Wales. One is a hymnal in Welsh.
I got these sticks outside my house and dried some flowers.
And my little living room…. I found the window on the side of the road.

It looks very peaceful and sophisticated!!!
Absolutely amazing!
Your pink flowers look like Chinese Lorapetalum (Fringe Flower). I have a bush myself. The kitchen looks great, and the living room does too!
I love your house! And I love yellow.Maybe some yellow tulips in the corner of the counter?
I love the way you decorate! Love the gray! …and I think the cabinets would look lovely white! Oh, and I totally want to steal your hanging window idea
